I saw another clip from Chimes at Midnight last night on YouTube, from a professor of cinema at some university talked about his favorite Welles. Will have to see if I can find the full thing. I've watched Welles' Macbeth, which he also mentioned, more than once.
I recently saw "Thieves Like Us" (1974), which is probably set around the same time as Miller's Crossing, which I liked a lot. You just see all the stuff that a group of old timey bank robbers do in between their heists.
Also saw two old Euro-Ripleys this year. "Purple Noon" (1960) looks great but wasn't really satisfying; "The American Friend" (1977) I loved.
Nice! Chimes is an amazing film.
Very interesting list! :)

OK, one missing item is an eye-raiser. No Joyeaux Noel? It would be in my top three, I think.
